Cool Ultrasound Link

I found this really cool site about 3-D Ultrasounds, which I had no idea existed. I hope that's the kind I'm getting in a few weeks, but we'll have to wait and see. :-)

I am Second Trimester Woman

Roar.
Now that I'm at 14 weeks, the little one should be about 3 1/2 inches long.   In other news, I dug some of Juliana's baby clothes out of the basement and fished out the unisex stuff (basically just a few sleepers and t-shirts). I also bought the baby's first package of tiny little onesies, which arrived in the mail from Amazon today along with a cute little book for Juliana titled "I'm a Big Sister".   She was pretty excited about it. In addition, I picked up a baby name book and have been adding some new names to the poll.   There are a couple that I like just as middle names so I might start pairing some names up to see what you guys think.

Heartbeat: 13 Weeks

Had another Dr's appointment yesterday and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat! I was kind of nervous about it at first since I've stopped feeling sick and I don't feel the baby moving yet, it doesn't really feel like I'm pregnant right now. All was peachy though and the heartrate was in the 150's. I know the old wive's tale of anything over 140 signifying a girl, but I have a feeling that this early every baby's heartrate is super high. I have another appointment in 4 weeks and then 3 weeks after that I should have my 20 week ultrasound and we'll settle this boy/girl thing for real. Apparently we'll be able to get a video of the ultrasound too which is supercool.

Babystyle.com

We also started a babystyle.com wishlist here. Sorry if it sounds like we're begging for gifts but I'm really just having fun picking out stuff I need and I'm sure I'll be purchasing a lot of things off of these lists myself over the next 6 months. Amazon.com didn't have everything I was looking for so I made a list at babystyle.com as well. They have some nice stuff although you have to ignore some of the outrageously overpriced items!

Baby Name Poll and Wishlist

We started an Amazon.com wishlist for the little munchkin today, so if you feel like sending the newbie some fun new stuff you can check it out here. Also, the gender poll and baby name submission page is up here.

12 weeks

I am officially 12 weeks along today! Yahoo! I have another doctor's appointment on the 18th where I will get to hear the baby's heartbeat so that's pretty exciting. Every time I ask Juliana about the baby in Mommy's tummy, she says, "It's coming at Christmas... with Santa!" Too cute. I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl because I hate saying "it" all the time. Jason said he kind of wants a girl because he's used to girls and wouldn't know what to expect from a boy. I thought that was funny. We should be able to find out in about 8 weeks but that seems so very far off right now...

Predictions

Well, I plugged some numbers into an "ancient" Chinese Conception Chart I found online at Babycenter.com and it predicts that we are having a girl. The results are apparently 66.5% accurate. Could it be right? Will there be no more Gessner boys to speak of???
I should be adding a poll this weekend so anyone interested can make public their own predictions about the destiny of the Gessner Empire...
