Am I the Most Boring Person Alive?

I got so excited when I saw this portable bassinet at babycenter.com. Geez, I am truly a suburban mom now. But seriously, it's just what I've been looking for and I haven't seen it anywhere else. I really don't understand why Carter's named it after John Lennon, but whatever, I'm willing to let the wierdness of that go. I'm so excited about buying new baby stuff!!!

I don't like this!

My right leg has been constantly numb lately and it's driving me crazy! I know it has something to do with the baby pinching my sciatic nerve but it's terribly annoying. I have to constantly have my leg up or it gets painful to walk on. Argh! I'm a person who likes to be up and about moving a lot so it makes me nuts to have to take breaks all the time to put my feet up. I do have a nifty little foot massager gadget that I got for Christmas a few years back that seems to help my lower leg at least. The numbness started out a couple of weeks ago just from the knee down but now it is travelling ever so slowly upwards. I need a massage therapist!

Oh yeah, 10 more days until the ultrasound! I had a dream last night that I give birth to a baby boy and Jason missed everything because he was asleep on the couch in the delivery room. Punk!

Soooo Impatient

I just wanted to post that I am 18 weeks today and there are only 13 days until my ultrasound appointment! We're taking a tour of the hospital's Maternity Pavillion on that day as well so that should be exciting too!

I'll be so happy when I can narrow down my list of names to a specific gender. The only problem is that while there are a handful of girls names that I love, I can't find a boy's name that I really really like. I'm thinking though that even if I do find one I love (boy or girl's name) I might keep it to myself for a few more months at least because I don't want anyone saying they don't like it! (Of course Jason had to like the name as well, but it's so hard to find a name that everyone you talk to agrees on!) If we have another girl, there are already a couple of names I'm feeling pretty attached to and I would hate it if somebody made a funny face upon hearing it!

Dr's Appt. Update!

Well, I just got back from my appointment and although I was originally peeved because I didn't get in to see my doctor until 45 minutes after my scheduled time (not fun when you have a hyperactive almost-3-year-old feeding off the energy of a mischevious 7-year-old boy in the waiting room), things turned around when I got to hear the baby's hearbeat again and made my appointment for my ultrasound! The big day is August 5th- only 19 days from now! I'm so excited. I really wanted a girl the first time around but this time I can honestly say I will be super thrilled either way. I just can't wait to find out so I can start searching garage sales for little boy or little girl clothes...

17 Weeks

4 months down, 5 more to go! I was lying on the couch this afternoon with the remote on my belly, watching it twitch around. I had forgotten how cool that was. Not much else to report today since my dr's appointment isn't until Thursday. I should be scheduling my 20 week ultrasound that day though, so that's something to look forward to!

Popular Baby Names

Billy sent me this interesting link to the Social Security Administration's site about popular baby names. Alas, here lies the reason why I cannot name a baby boy Jacob: it's the most popular boys name out there! Anyway, it's fun to type in a name and find out where it ranks.

On another note: three cheers for being 16 weeks! My belly is really starting to pop out now. I like it. I'm also definitely feeling some movement going on down there which is really exciting.

More Fun Prediction Stuff

Somebody posted this labor/gender prediction link on one of the message boards I read. It's all in good fun, but here's my prediction from the "clairvoyant":

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the early evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 14 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 13 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have hazel eyes and dark hair.

Just thought I'd share!

Weekly Update

I could have sworn I felt the baby fluttering around in my belly the other day when I was lying on my stomach reading. That seems so crazy though since I'm only just 15 weeks today and I thought that usually movement can be felt beginning in weeks 16 - 20. I know that since it's my second baby I should be able to recognize the feeling a lot earlier but still, I was taken by surprise! I definitely felt something going on for a few minutes and it was pretty cool. I can't wait for it to get stronger. I remember before Juliana was born, I would lie on the bed and watch my belly twitch around. I had no idea you could actually see the baby moving around under your skin like some kind of creepy alien thing!
