Who Can Resist This Face?

I tried to capture Ava's big smile on camera while I was holding her and this is the best angle I could get. What a ham! When again in life does a double chin look so adorable?

Ava smiled at me yesterday! It was a really big smile too in reaction to me talking to her. It was so very adorable! I want her to do it again but for now it seems to be just a one time thing. I think she knows how badly I want another smile though and she's just teasing me.

Also, I had my six week post partum checkup today and everything is peachy. I've lost 32 of my 45 pounds so far which makes me very happy. The nurse who saw me last December when I was completely huge hardly recognized me! She kept talking about how I had all my weight in my belly and how she just knew I would have a big baby from how I looked back then. It already seems so long ago! I should post some before and after pictures of me pretty soon. I'm sure it would be amusing to look at.

Happy Birthday Maddie!

I love this photo of Juliana watching Maddie blow out her birthday candles. She had such a great time and it was really nice to see her get so excited about somebody else getting presents and all the attention!

Also, I posted two new galleries tonight. You can find them here. Enjoy!

Busy Weekend Ahead

Well, we've got lots of fun stuff planned for this weekend for the girls. On Friday afternoon we are going to the fire station in Rockford where Jeff will be giving Juliana a tour! She is going to flip out when she sees the fire trucks, I just know it. Then we are dropping Juli off at Michelle and Dan's house where she and Bailee will be having a sleepover. If Ava is in a good mood then we may or may not go out to dinner but that remains to be seen. Juliana was always very good as a baby when we went out to eat. Basically she just slept the whole time in her carseat carrier so hopefully we will get lucky again. Anyway, on Saturday after we will pick up Juliana and head over to a birthday party for Alexis (Jason's cousin Melissa's oldest daughter.) She will be seven years old, which is funny because I can remember her being a baby at our wedding. I guess we've been married quite a while now right? THEN, on Sunday all of us are going to Milwaukee to have lunch at Russ' house followed by Maddie's 3rd birthday party that afternoon. Lots and lots of running around but it should be a good time.

Deja Vu?

Who's that baby on the left? Is it Ava? No, it's Juliana at about 6 weeks old! If I came across these photos in a box many years from now I wonder if I would be able to tell which of my children I was looking at!?

So Big!

Doesn't Ava look like she's 3 months old instead of 3 weeks?? She's already lost that scrunched-up, funny newborn look and has her cute little baby face! She's so alert now too. She loves to listen to music especially. Since Juliana is my little artist maybe this one will be the musician?

Three Weeks Old

Wow, I can't believe that Ava will already be 3 weeks old tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday that it was summer and I was counting the months until her arrival. Back then a Christmas baby seemed so far away, and now the holidays are already over and I'm hiding out inside my house (with my two girls!) from the freezing January air. Ava is an absolute angel. It's a bit rough not sleeping straight through the night anymore but Jason helps me out a lot during the day since he's working from home and it's really nice. Otherwise, I don't know when I'd ever get any rest since Juliana doesn't take a nap at all anymore! Juli really loves to help out with her little sister too, which is absolutely adorable. She likes to hold her bottle and "help" me change her diaper and give her lots of little kisses on the top of her head. They are too cute together! I can't believe how much alike they look too. Ava looks exactly like Juliana did when she was a baby- so much that sometimes it feels like I'm having deja vu (even though I know she is a different baby!) I'm so excited to see how Ava's personality will be different from Juli's though. I'm just excited in general. And tired. But a good, happy tired, so that's fine with me.
