Do you hear that? It's the sweet sound of SILENCE. Juliana has left for the weekend! I can hear my own thoughts again!

Not that I won't totally miss her by 8pm tonight or anything.

Also, I had to eat my own words about how only crazy people buy swimsuits in February since I found myself purchasing two of them for Juli last week at Target. HYPOCRITE!

The Calm Before the Storm

Ava says:

"Please send my Mommy and Daddy good wishes this weekend, as they are planning to take my beloved binky away from me while my big sister is at Wisconsin Dells with Aunt Shelly, Uncle Dan, and Bailee. (This way I won't disturb Juli with my EAR PIERCING WAILS at bedtime.)"

Short Update Followed By Deliberations of a (GULP) "Mommy Blogger"

If you ask Ava what she has in her diaper, most times she will wave her hand in front of her face and say, "GINKY!". It's awesome. She also loves to pretend-sneeze, as in "AHHHH- CHOOOO!" Plus, every time we go to pick Jason up at the trains she yells, "CHOO-CHOO!" when it pulls into the station. (I use all caps when spelling her words because that is exactly the way in which she speaks them.) She has long mastered the answer to the question, "How big is Ava?", which of course is to raise her hands above her head and smile extra big. Also, this weekend I swear she was trying to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". She kept singing the melody of the first line to the song (although she was replacing the actual words with "Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo La-La-La.") I'm convinced she has this song stuck in her head and is trying to get it out but just doesn't know how to do it.

We all celebrated Bailee's 6th birthday party this weekend so pictures will be coming soon. (CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE IS SIX? How old am I now? Geez.) I've been slow with the photo galleries lately since we will be using a new piece of software to organize our photos and I haven't learned how to use it yet. I'm also going to try to post on this site more. I tend to get wrapped up in my own personal blog so don't post as much as I should over here. (Yeah, yeah, It's all about me, I know...) I'm still trying to find a good balance between both sites. The reason I keep two separate blogs is that I don't really want to mix photos of my girls in with rants about politics, odes to Viggo Mortensen, and in-depth analysis of television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. People shouldn't have to wade through disparaging words about the president or love poems to my TIVO on their way to find Ava and Juli updates. (Ok, I don't really write love poems to my TIVO, but I might as well.) However, sometimes I want to write about the girls on my personal site- since they are the people I spend the most time with- but I end up torn as to whether I should post it over there or save it for here. Silly stuff, I know. I'll figure it out. This page suffers a bit for content though, so I've been trying to think of ideas that will spruce it up a bit. I think I'll start with adding galleries of Juliana's artwork and photographs (which I've talked about before) and maybe try to add some audio and video clips. I'll need some help with that though (HINT HINT).

This is what I get for spending so much time putting my life on the internet.

Oh My Goodness

"Mommy, Zachary said today: 'Juliana is my girlfriend.'"

"Well, do you want to be Zachary's girlfriend?"

Someday, She Will Look at These Pictures and Realize Just How Cool It Was That She Did This

Plus, my daughter was on the same bill as The Rhythm Chicken!

Yes, I am aware he is wearing a bunny head.

Juliana Self Portrait #837

The "Glad To Be Me" sticker just killed me on this one. Too perfect. By the way, I really need to make a page of artwork galleries. Soon.

Since Jason beat me to the blogging punch, I will refer you to his latest entry about our little artist.
