Back to Life, Back to Re-al-i-ty

Well, I guess it's time to pull my head out of the clouds after our amazing weekend and get back to business. Yesterday I kind of floated around in a daze, but now things are starting to get back on track. Here are the two major things that are happening in the world of Juli and Ava this week:

1) Ava can now point to her feet, belly, or hair when asked. She also has learned to say the word "shoe". If you tell her it's time to put her shoes on, she will walk to the front door where they are, sit down, and try to put them on her feet. She's also understanding a lot of other small requests too. If you tell her to go get her Teletubby doll or Boohbah she will go do just that. It's only a matter of time before I have her doing dishes and cleaning the litter box.

2) Juliana is THIS CLOSE to being able to read! We have been studying every afternoon at this website called Starfall.com (Thanks, Michelle!), and it's really starting to come together for her. She can recognize a number of words now and is starting to get pretty good at sounding things out. She is constantly asking how to spell things and then writing them out on paper. Also, in the middle of conversations she will randomly tell you how particular words are spelled. For example, "Mommy, can I have some LUNCH? That's L-U-N-C-H. LUNCH." Basically, the world is her own personal spelling bee where she is the lone contestant.

Well, that's all for now. I have a bunch of new photos I will hopefully post here tomorrow along with the rest our Las Vegas pictures on the traceysspace blog.

Your girls are little geniuses! :) That's so cool that Juli is already starting to read. My mama started teaching me how to read before I was in school too, and I will always be grateful for that.
If you teach Ava to scoop the litter box, please send her my way...ha ha ha...
