One Step Closer to the Day She Wants a Britney CD

The other day I had a fluffy Hollywood gossip show on the tv (Access Extra Hollywood Entertainment Live or something like that) when an image of Paris Hilton flashed across the screen.

Juliana: "Mom! Look at that girl's sunglasses! She's JUST LIKE YOU!"

Me: Pause as I think: 1) There is no way Paris bought her sunglasses at Target and 2) Paris Hilton! EW!

Me: "Juli, please don't ever compare me to Paris Hilton again."

Juliana: "Why not? She looks pretty. I like her."

Me: *Sigh* (Not yet wanting to get into the difference between "pretty" and "pretty trashy".) " Never mind. You'll understand when you're older."

In my day, I used to idolize Madonna. Poor role model she may have been, at least she actually DID something.

Happy Birthday Nana!

Well, today is Nana/Mom/Monica's birthday and Jason thought it would be "amusing" to give the "impression" that we forgot about it (HA HA) and then send a big bouquet of flowers to her work (thus making him simultaneously the most awesome and trickiest son ever.) This would have been fine, had the order we placed at FTD.com a couple of days ago not gotten LOST. Or to use their phrasing: MIS-SORTED.

Luckily, when I told Juliana about the mishap, she volunteered to help remedy the situation:

I think these are much more beautiful anyway.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA! Someday, hopefully, we will redeem ourselves.

Ava's new favorite word is "outside." If she hears you even mention the "O" word she runs toward the door screaming, "AAH-SIIIIIDE!">

I Can't Stop Taking Pictures.

There are two new galleries for May and June up on the girls' photo page. As always, many of the pictures have already been posted up here, but there are a handful of new shots as well.

Daddy Date!

Jason took Juliana to the movies tonight. They are driving into the city to go see Howl's Moving Castle (the new Hayao Miyazaki movie.) She was so excited to go and was singing "I'm going on a Daddy Date! A Daddy Date!" I just had to take their picture. Juliana is wearing her new pink Chuck Taylor high tops that Jason bought for her last week as well. They went shoe shopping together. Imagine that.

Jason looks crazy here. And I wonder why Juliana is such a spazz.

Tracey and Ava

Ava and I are on our own tonight. We're kicking off our Friday night with a round of Teletubbies.

Portrait Time!

I really want to update this page but Ava is stinky and Juli wants to play outside. For now, enjoy the photos...

Ava's first portrait. This is as close as we could come to a smile. And we tried EVERYTHING!

I brought her back with Juliana, thinking she would smile if her sister was there. This is the one and only smile we got out of her so of course Juli had to look like she was growling in this shot! However, it's actually pretty true to her personality.

This is the stare Ava insisted on having for all the other pictures. Juli looks adorable here though.

I suppose I'm not really encouraging her to stop doing this when I take out my camera and start snapping away.
