One Step Closer to the Day She Wants a Britney CD
The other day I had a fluffy Hollywood gossip show on the tv (Access Extra Hollywood Entertainment Live or something like that) when an image of Paris Hilton flashed across the screen.
Juliana: "Mom! Look at that girl's sunglasses! She's JUST LIKE YOU!"
Me: Pause as I think: 1) There is no way Paris bought her sunglasses at Target and 2) Paris Hilton! EW!
Me: "Juli, please don't ever compare me to Paris Hilton again."
Juliana: "Why not? She looks pretty. I like her."
Me: *Sigh* (Not yet wanting to get into the difference between "pretty" and "pretty trashy".) " Never mind. You'll understand when you're older."
In my day, I used to idolize Madonna. Poor role model she may have been, at least she actually DID something.

I just checked out your new pictures on flicker, and I just have to ask, is your daughters swimsuit top on upside down? It kind of looks like it is- that's so funny!!! Those were the days when you could run around with your swimsuit upside down and not get arrested for indecent exposure!! Maybe thats just how kids swimsuits fits these days... At any rate, I just love your blogs, you have the cutest kids and some provoking things to think about, thanks for giving me something interesting to read besides law books (i'm studying for the bar exam- YUCK!)

You have a good eye- the swimsuit top is completely upside down! Juli didn't believe me at first when I told her she had put it on wrong. We fixed it eventually, but for the photos I guess she was making her own fashion statement or something.
