"A Magical Adventure for Yooouuuu!"

totoro.jpg

Ava's favorite movie right now is called "My Neighbor Totoro." As is with all of her favorites, she would prefer for Totoro to be on rotation on the television twenty-four hours a day. Upon realizing that I was not going to do this for her, Ava has now learned to turn on the television in the bedroom, take the dvd out of the case, open the dvd player, put the dvd in the drive, close it, and press play. Sometimes I'll be in the kitchen and suddenly hear the movie's theme song wafting downstairs from the bedroom. I'll go upstairs and find her with a big grin on her face, bouncing up and down saying, "Look, Mommy! To-to-ro!

Ava is quite talented. My Julianna tried playing DVDs by putting them in the VCR. I only figured this out after trying to put a tape in (yes, we still own some tapes ;) ) and finding that there was something blocking its way... two DVDs, I found out. Luckily there was no damage to the VCR, but one of those DVDs no longer works.

My kids I nannied for could do this too. She was 2 1/2 and knew how to work the whole thing to her Baby Einstein advantage. That's all she was really allowed to watch. So I took advantage of her skillz and made her help me hook up DSL. :)
