Tori Amos

Lou Barlow/Sebadoh

Lou looks just like how Jason did in high school when we first started dating! He also has written some of the saddest songs ever. As a band, Sebadoh rocks thehouse and I'm lucky to have seen them live on two occasions. If you like them, also check out the Folk Implosion or some of Lou's solo stuff.   Nice.

Ani Difranco

I jumped on the Ani bandwagon kind of late (around 1996), so I can't claim to have seen her play some small coffee house in Chicago or anything. But I'm still a pretty substansial fan, not because she's a "powerful, angry woman in rock," but because she writes some really kickass songs.   Period.

Dead Can Dance

Some of the most calming, intensely spiritual music— without sounding too granola/new-agey. At least in my opinion.

PJ Harvey
Polly Harvey's range is so amazing. She is always re-inventing her sound, but not in that Madonna-esque- follow-what-the-trends-are kind of way. She does the glam-rock thing, the blues thing, and the lo-fiexperimental thing. A little bit of something for everyone, eh?

Jawbox

Alas, Jawbox is no more. But you can check out former band members new group Burning Airlines here. Just as good as the original.

I'm working on this page, really I am...

Billie Holiday

Lyle Lovett

Bob Mould/Sugar

The Pixies
The best band that ever was.
They Might Be Giants

>Tom Waits

By far, Tom puts on the absolutely best show around.
